February RnL meeting
Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Rubicon Trail******Attendance Is Now Full********
Just curious if anyone is planning and/or interested in making a trip down to the Rubicon Trail this year?

We are thinking of maybe going sometime in July or August... When would be a good week for everyone? Open to suggestions at this point on a good time to go (but would like to set a date soon since we need to submit vacation requests by 2/15...).

I would be interested.
Not sure if I would want to drive, will have to figure out a trailer setup.

I'd be trailering down. No way I could handle 14 hours each way with the new tires...

I'd be a last week commitment...would this be a week long event like Moab? or a long weekend, leave, or return in the middle of the week?

Long weekend - one day to drive down, 2 days to do the trail, one day to drive home...

Re: Rubicon Trail******Attendance Is Now Full********
Okay, just going to throw a few dates out there and see if they work for everyone... We are actually trying to find some dates that don't require us taking official vacation time... How does Sat. July 11th through the 14th or July 25th through the 28th sound? This is one day to get down there, 2 days to run the trail, and one day to get back. This is for those of us that want to make it just for the Rubicon Trail. Otherwise, if anyone wants to take the whole week and do more trails/areas (i.e. Fordyce), that would be an option too.

Something to check would be to make sure there are no events happening either of those weekends. It would be no fun to be stuck in traffic on the trail during a Jamboree...

I'd rather run the trail in 3 days. Two days means theres no time to stop and swim or whatever. I'd also take a week off and run the Barret Lake trail which is close to the resort so you wouldn't have to reload the jeep on the trailer.

We did it in 3 days (2 nights camping on the trail), and that was a very leisurely pace.

After thinking about it, we were stopped ALOT working on Pats CJ. I was so worried about his jeep that it seemed like we missed a lot of the play areas. Two full days would work, but I'd still like to hit the Barret Lake trail. Thats a one way in, camp at the lake, one way out trail.
