What lift would you buy under 4.5" for a 1997 - 2006 wrangler? Whats the trick set these days? Long arm or short arm? If you could lift you're rig again would you buy the same lift? scratch

Id go Clayton

http://claytonoffroad.com/index.php/cPath/17_40

I run a Full Traction long arm with Teraflex 4" coils and I really like it but the rear 3 link truss is overly complicated and annoying. Too many bolts to check and tighten and its a pain to open the rear diff because of it. I like the Clayton weld on truss/upper link mount much better. But I do like the front end setup on the Full Traction, its not a radius arm setup

X2 on Clayton, I would probably do their 4" short arm kit. Massively beefy. I run their front track bar and weld on bracket, and love it. Cured all my death wobble issues...

If money isn't holding you back, long arm is the way to go hands down. You will not believe the difference in ride quality. I'm also a fan of Clayton.

I kinda like the Clayton set up also. I have a 4" pro comp short arm lift on mine and really don't have any complaints. I haven't been in a long arm wrangler but i wonder if the added expense is worth it. Maybe i missed it, does the Clayton long arm setup require exhaust modification? Thanks for the info.

Yes you will have to redo the exhaust.

Like Supafly I also went from a short arm to a long arm and I think it was worth it. the ride is alot nicer and its way more stable.

Remember the old saying, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it!" Question I break mine all the time so I have to do upgrades..........and the the upgrades grades break other things and those things break other things! Embarassed My only comment is "keep it simple"! Laughing (Not that I personally have done that!!!!!!)

A picture of the new project. 2005 Wrangler X, Auto, A/C, dana 30 and 44. I'm leaning toward the Clayton 4" short arm lift. Hoping for a sale before Christmas. The long arm lifts look like alot of work.

I bought this jeep for the windshield frame, I'm scrapping the rest Suspect Sue is calling the the new jeep "a baby jeep". I think a lift is needed. After further review, I'm thinking Currie.TJ/LJ JOHNNY JOINTŪ 4" SUSPENSION SYSTEM W/ ANTIROCKŪ & HEAVY REAR SPRINGS FOR UP TO 35" TIRES CE-9801H . Maybe not the strength of a clayton lift but there using the same joints. Anybody know someone at Northridge for a good deal. I know it's not a long arm lift, what do you think? study
