Yes, we are planning to go. Here is the info on the trip from the Rubicon Owners Forum (BTW you don't have to be a Rubicon owner to sign up on the forum or to attend the trip):

If you did not like the Hotel find another place on your own...
this Hotel has ample parking and low speed net.
(Owners do need to upgrade the cable service)

This is a Non- OFFICIAL R.O.F Trip

Guide to Moab, UT Back roads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails, by Charles Wells (ISBN 09664976-2-7) contains a wealth of information on the trails in the area. It details virtually all of the trails in and around the Moab area, rates them by difficulty, and provides directions to the trail head, route maps and GPS coordinates at key locations.
The entire week IS a Self-Serve, buffet of trails. You pick and choose which ones you want to run, and who you want to run them with.
The process is pretty straight forward:
Every morning, participants gather at the Moab Brewery Parking Lot starting around 8:00 AM. This is your opportunity to mingle and find out what trails people are considering. Once you have an idea what your options are, you can decide what group to join. By about 8:30, you will begin to see people leaving in different directions to go run the trails. When choosing a group/trail, you should consider your own driving experience, your Jeep's capability, and the supposed difficulty of the intended trail.
Please remember this means is
" IF you go...expect to be your on your own...
This is not a Sanctioned Event" it`s a "Meet N Greet"

Re: Moab 2009
So basically it is not really an organized event, just a bunch of guys showing up for a meet-n-greet every morning, and by 9:00am dividing up into groups of 5 to 10 jeeps to run different trails. No schedule, no roster, etc.
No need to officially sign up unless you want one of the discounted hotel rooms.
Also you will definitely not be the only non-Rubicon there. Usually there is a couple of YJs, XJs, CJs, etc...
Here is the thread on ROF about it:

Re: Moab 2009
If we do the same thing as last year, we will probably drive halfway on Saturday, and the rest of the way on Sunday. That gets us into town early enough Sunday to get supper and get plenty of sleep before Monday...
Re: Moab 2009
What is the hotels name? Is this where you stayed last time? How does one make a reservation through ROF ( I registered)? You mentioned once before that you knew enough about the trails to lead us on our own excursions, still game?

Re: Moab 2009
Yeah, I'm totally game for that, and I'm sure Jon would be too. We know our way around pretty well now.
The hotel is called Riverside Inn. Sometime around January mac will post up in that thread the info on getting the discount. You shouldn't have any problem getting in on the discount...

Family?
How family friendly do you think this run will be? Do you know anything about camping in the local area? Be cool to haul the adventure trailer down there, have a place to camp and leave it for the day,or maybe drag it around on some trails.

Re: Moab 2009
It is a family friendly run. There will be others with kids, and there will be groups doing trails from mild to wild. As far as camping, Jon and Jess usually camp. I don't remember the name of the campground they stay at - hopefully one of them will see this thread and post it.
The campground is geared a little more towards RVs, but does have some nice sites towards the back of the campground for tents and tent trailers. The campground is about a mile out of town, so very convenient. Temperatures could be anywhere from 35 at night to 90 in the daytime, so be prepared for that.

The campground we stay at is called Moab Rim Campark. Here is their website if you're interested: http://www.moab-utah.com/moabrim/campark.html

Re: Moab 2009
Margi & I were just discussing this trip last night at dinner with my sister-n-laws. They're retired (snowbirds) in Arizona, the girls made some side plans around the Moab trip. So, NOT commiting, so Jon & Jessi don't bail out yet but it is looking a lot better for me to participate in an out of state run next year

How early do you make reservations for this campground?

I usually make them sometime in January... They are usually a fairly busy campground so I like to make sure and reserve early, but you could probably make reservations a little later if you need to.

Do you & Jon tent it? I've a camper but don't know if I want to bear the burden of hauling it all the way down there. Plus I don't have AC, is that necessary?

We tented the first year we went, but now we sleep in the back of our truck and canopy. It's nice to be off the ground and in a hard sided shelter.......we've had some pretty strong winds up there at times and also some short, heavy rainstorms roll through. There are plenty of people who do tent there though, so I would probably vote for that rather than hauling the extra weight of a camper all the way down there. In terms of AC, I am the wrong person to ask... I don't think it's needed, but then again I love to be warm and in the sun!!!

Re: Moab 2009
It can get pretty hot in the daytime (anywhere from 70's to 90's), but cools off nicely at night (from mid 30's to mid 50's) if that helps. One year it was really hot, and one year it was kinda cold (even saw some snow one day). The other years have been pretty mild. Normal is t-shirt and shorts weather in the daytime, long pants and a light jacket in the evenings.
Re: Moab 2009
Sounds like perfect camping weather to me, good for breaking out the mummy bag.

Re: Moab 2009
Have you folks made any reservations for either the campground, or hotel yet? Margi & I discussed it further since the last meeting, it's looking a little more optimistic. I just need to firm up dates, logistics & some additional info as to where we want to stay, and what we want to do

Re: Moab 2009
Here is our probable itinerary (I'm guessing Jon and Jess will be similar - last year we caravaned down together but came back separate):
We haven't made reservations yet.
Also a reminder - there is NO ALCOHOL allowed on the trails in Moab. This applies to drivers and passengers, and includes lunch breaks, etc. Very strictly enforced. You can drink all you want in the evenings back in town, and if drinking too much to drive, there are always plenty of rides back to the hotel or campground.
- Leave Snohomish Saturday morning April 25th around 8:30am.
- Spend the night at a friend's house or hotel in Meridian ID Saturday night (close to Boise, and lots of hotels nearby).
- Arrive in Moab Sunday evening April 26th, staying at the Riverside Inn.
- Wheel Monday to Friday - daily meet the ROF gang at the Moab Brewery at 8:00am, divide up into groups, go run trails, come back to town for supper and hanging out at the brewery, then back to the hotel for some shut-eye to be ready to do it all again the next day.
- Friday May 1 around 5:00pm head out of town to get about 5 hours down the road towards home, spending the night at a hotel somewhere around Ogden UT.
- Saturday May 2 hit the road again at around 8:30am, and around 10:00pm arrive back home.
We haven't made reservations yet.

So, if we ventured out on our own, and not with a ROF group is it OK to endulge in libations? or is this a state/city/county ordinance? even for a passenger?

So brown bags it is when are you folks going to call in your reservations?
To bad this run isn't at the end of May, the Moab Art Festival is at the end of the month
Hows the winter been down in Moab neighborhood, will the wheeling be limited? It's been a pretty hard winter

Re: Moab 2009
It's desert, so they don't get a lot of precip, although they have had some snow this year. I'd expect it will be long gone by the end of April though.
There are a couple of trails that get up to around 10K ft, and those could have a little bit of snow still on them (like the Top of the World trail). But most of the really good trails are down around 5000-6000 ft (the town is at about 4000).
We will make our reservations as soon as mac on ROF gives the instructions.
