February RnL meeting
Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Bought a new battery today
If anyone has been following all of the battery threads over on ROF, you've probably heard of the Odyssey PC1500 DT. This battery is very well rated and highly reviewed. It is a Group 34/78 battery, rated for both starting and deep discharge (similar to the Optima Yellow Top). It puts out 880 CCA, 135 minute reserve, and 68 AH. In case you don't know much about battery ratings, that is significantly better than the Yellow Top (rated 750, 120 and 55).
So I did a little research on this battery, and found out the Sears DieHard Platinum P-4 is the exact same battery, just re-branded. Today I bought one at Sears (Alderwood Mall). $179.99 - that is about $45 cheaper than the Odyssey from Quadratec, plus you don't have to pay the $30 shipping, so a total savings of $75.00. The only difference between the Sears and the Odyssey is the color of the case, and Sears actually has a better warranty - 4 years full replacement, vs. 2 years full replacement. That is an excellent warranty, not prorated - if the battery fails in less than 4 years, you get a brand new one for free...

Re: Bought a new battery today
Good info, my red top optima crapped out on the last Evans run after winching, and struggled at times yesterday just starting
