Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Evan's Creek Revisited
The snow was pounding down most of the day
The snow was getting thick on the 520 trail
Someones Toyota taking a nap
Took about 45 min to upright. He drove up the right edge of the trail. We had to winch him sideways before we could pull him over.
A picture just before starting up the 519 trail.
Sometimes it was tough to see where we were going.

Lookin good! I should have loaded up and headed that way myself yesterday. Evans is always a blast just after the first snow.

Evans Creek Again
I Went to Evan’s Creek on Saturday with 4 other jeeps (TJ, 2 flat fenders and a CJ). We arrived somewhere around 9:30 or 10:00 am and started on the 311 trail. Moved on to the 520 trail and while the first part was uneventful the second part was a winch fest. The upper part of 520 was so slick that everyone in our group was on the ground a least once.
We had people fall down and the only thing that stopped there slide further was a jeep tire. A Woman in our group hit the ground so hard it almost knocked her out. The first slick hill we came to there was 2 groups ahead of us and another group behind us. The TJ tried the first hill and came back down faster than he went up; the only thing that prevented disaster was a well placed tree that he hit half way over the edge. The rest of the group winched up this first hill while a group of three waited to go back down. The first one to go back down was a JK that slid at high rate of speed, halfway off the trail and was stopped by a tree. Two winches pulled him back on the trail and the other two jeeps slid there way down to the bottom of the hill. We thought the worst was behind us, but that was the easy hill. Just past the rock pile there was a hill that took 2 if not 3 complete winch pulls to get to the top. I was stopped on the hill getting ready for my second winch pull; a guy unhooks the cable (after shaking the jeep to see if it will move) and just as he was going to hook me to the second winch point (you guessed it) I’m flying down the hill backwards. To make matters worse there a slight corner at the bottom (no trees at the corner). I’m bracing for impact. Luckily the jeep stayed on the trail and we made sure to hock up a safety line for all subsequent winch point changes. (I told them; I don’t need no stinking safety line) We hit the forest service road at 6:00pm. Just another fun 4 wheel adventure.
Sorry no pictures. I did't have my camera crew with me(Sue).

Re: Evan's Creek Revisited
Mark, Did you notice if anyone's been keeping the 311B open? Hopefully with Rieter being shut down they'll be more traffic up at Evans to keep trails open a little longer this winter

Re: Evan's Creek Revisited
The 311B is open. I would not recommend anyone going there until the snow falls. Anywhere that does not get any sun is very dangerous.
