Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Thanks Jon. I'm so exited I can barely handle it.

After doing some more figuring, I think I'm going to go with an 18". With the 10"drop, a little bit of the toung will totally fit under the step. The 18" extension is rated for 5,000 lbs, I think. It is only $60.00 at tork lift.

rubikong wrote:This thing is eleven freakin' feet long. I need an extension that is 37" outside of the receiver. I can probably stick 7" of the tounge under the step bumper. I'm sure it will be ok but if that's too long I'll cut the damn bumper right off. That'll save another 8". I think you said your extension is 24", Zip. Thanks but I guess I need a longer one.
No problem, it's here if you change your mind...setup looks good, lets see some pics of the backend, especially underneath around the bumper

Check your turning radius & clearances if your running your trailer tongue under the camper, make sure everything clears on tight turns. What does the weight of your trailer, jeep + load going to weigh? Mine is about 7k, is that extension rated for what your going to pull? My extension is rated for 10k, check with Tork Lift, they know their stuff

Ok I'll take a couple more when I get off work tomorrow. The Girl at Torklift is the one who said not to go over 18" or I will lose too much weight rating, unless what you have is the whole hitch that is some special thing. My jeep weighs something like 3,400 lbs. I don't know what my trailer weighs, but it's a 16' rectangle tube car hauler. They sell an entire sytem for $900 (not installed). There's no way I'm spending that. 24" would work great, as long as we are in the weight rating. I'll look more at the whole thing tomorrow, and thanks for the help.

Oh, and another thing she told me is that you lose 1,000 lbs of rating per ft of extension, or 6" I don't remember.

I guess mine would weigh pretty darn close to yours, so if that's the case I can't use their 5,000 lbs 18".

Yes, that about correct for cost, it includes the double receiver (10k) & the double tubed extension (10k). I supplied the equalizer hitch & ball. Pretty spendy deal, the design change from my other extension is that the new one has double 2x2 tubes, vs. a single 2x2 solid bar. And of course what I told you at the meeting about the flat bars, vs chains.

Might explain the (10k) rating on mine, lost (2k) on the extension Both extensions look to be overkill, but again 'better to be safe, than sorry'

Re: I didn't work today, so I got this.
My hitch says
---------------------------MAX TRAILER WEIGHT LBS-------MAX TOUNGE WEIGHT LBS
WEIGHT DISTRIBUTING-----------10,000---------------------------1,000
WEIGHT CARRYING-----------------5,000-----------------------------500
The receiver is only 7" deep. I need the superhitch huh. There goes my front axle.
