February RnL meeting
Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Memorial Weekend 2014
ATTENDANCE
Chris (Homey)
Mark (MadMark) & Sue
Mark (Shooey)
Aaron (Rbo)
Lealon (Zip)
GUESTS
Dale, Marty & Family
Ray & Bobbi
Another successful RnL Memorial weekend run, this would be our 2nd annual work party run for the Cle Elum ranger district
Saturday
Ran the 4W307 into the 4W308 to the rock slide. Ran through the 2013 fire area to find it pretty devastated from the burn. All the bridges that were in the fires path burned leaving an abundance of rusty spikes in the snow & mud. Eerily there was no snow in the burnt area, I'm assuming it's because there was no shade & it was melted off. A lot of trees (15+) were cleared from the trail, Aaron 36" chainsaw sure came in handy this year. The drifts around the trees creating the tree wells made for some challenges to get through w/o damages from sliding in
Sunday
Ran the 4W307 into the 4W330, 4W309 back into the 4W308 to complete the annual loop. Going this direction had it's challenges as the majority of the 4W330 is up hill, Homey did another great job in leading & finding the trail. There was approximately 2-6' of snow throughout w/ drifts much deeper than that in places. Had two guests on this run, Dale, Marty & family (Ellensburg) & Ray & Bobbi (Chehalis), they seemed to have as good a time as the rest of us
It's appreciated that the Cle Elum Ranger district allows us to review & report on the 4x4 closures for them in preparation for the annual opening of the 4x4 trails on June 15th. We hope that our efforts will ensure the continuance of this run as an annual event. Once again there was no abuse by the 4x4 community in entering the closed areas
Other members please add to this report & any pics of the weekend, Thank You for being there...Pic will be following...

Re: Memorial Weekend 2014
We had to clear about 3 feet of snow off the top of the bridge to cross.

Good work guys. Still looks like a lot of snow up there, think they will be able to open it by the 15th?

Another work party is going up there this weekend to work on this same loop, if the snow is anything like we encountered I'd say no. Depends on what they get through and done I suppose
