February RnL meeting
Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

My Jeeps status...
...well, I'm well into the upgrades & modifications now, should be interesting to see how they work out. Hopefully for the better;
IN-WORK
Fuel cell relocation (this was to allow me to add fuel w/o unloading the jeep & create more storage);
*relocated & mounted, need to mount/install fuel filler & vent hose (THANKS Mumblewood for your assistance)
*fuel lines re-routed, still need to add some clamping & rub protection DONE
Electric Fuel Pump (added due to vapor locking twice in Cali last summer);
* mounting location & brackets installed DONE
* need to fab a fuel pump skid plate & mount DONE
* need to install & hookup fuel lines DONE & electrical I/W
Suspension (due to the spring clips popping off on the Little Sluice Box); DONE
* front leaf springs have been removed & reinstalled, had spring keepers riveted on the front only w/ 1" length & springs re-bent. Swapped sides also due to sagging
** shop suggested adding a leaf that ran from eye to eye (strength), so removed a thin one & added a longer thicker one. This added about 2" of lift to the suspension...we'll see how this works, hopefully the ride will not be to affected & it will settle some? Hopefully I'll still be able to get in it MIGHT HAVE TO GET THE REAR D/L LENGTHENED, SPRINGS FLEX FURTHER THAN THE D/L EXTENDS or make some type of limiter cable
* rear springs in the shop now, hope to pick up this PM. Required the same modifications as the front springs DONE
STILL NEED TO DO
* install & wire fog/driving/rock lights
* install skid plate (cutting board material to protect more under belly)
* re-install seatbelt harnesses (removed to clean)
* cut the back of box (to access through the tailgate)
* install the air tank & replumb (same reason as fuel cell re-location)
* mount the aluminum top to rollbar (due to continuosly ripping the bikini top)
* attach roll cage to frame
Times flying by quickly, shooting for Memorial Weekend to be complete if not sooner. Not everything needs to be done now, but would be nice for peace of mind

Where are you having your springs set up at? I only know of one place localy that do springs, just wondering if there's somwhere else. I'm trying to get my rear springs set up, if what I just put together dosn't hold up I may have to have some custom made.
