So now I've got the same problem Justin had - one of my rear brakes must have been dragging tonight. When I pulled in the garage, I could smell hot brakes, and the rear passenger tire was too hot to touch.

After cooling off, the wheel will spin freely, so it isn't seized up. Gonna have to pull it apart tomorrow to see what's up.

I think I may have forgotten to put grease on the caliper slides...

I had to take a grinder to my inside rear pads, to take a few thousands off to even get my rear caliper on. No problem now with turning the rotor with a screw driver now?
Need to put things back together tonight and take it around the neghborhood, maybe go over to Jon's?
That's why I always go with the cheap pads, change them out couple times a year

Time for new calipers. I researched it when I was having this problem, and its pretty common.

Justin, what actually goes bad with the calipers? Is the piston actually sticking?

My brakes were fine this morning driving to the park-n-ride. Gonna take it apart tonight to see what's up...

My pistons were sticking but I decided to just replace the whole caliper on both sides.

So I took everything apart tonight, and the piston is fine, every looked fine. It isn't sticking now, wheel spins freely. Rotor looks fine, pads look fine (maybe just a hint of glazing, but not much). But the slide pins were bone dry.

So I think that was my problem. I greased the pins, and will keep a close eye on it for a while and see what happens...

The problem is all the places we 4 wheel have all these(non corrosive Wink ) chemicals. It locks everything that doesn't have alot of travel. I'm with Supafly replace it. It's just a matter of time before it does it again(yes I really am a positive person). If you drive your jeep up the pass those chemicals they use are really bad.

Good point on the chemicals that are being utilized on the hwys nowadays. My painted, white shocks on my truck look like solid rust with chemical coating on them alien

Mine have been fine ever since I greased the slides on the calipers. I had just done a brake job, and forgotten to put brake grease on the caliper slides. I had cleaned them with degreaser too, so they were totally bone dry.
