February RnL meeting
Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Re: New tires
I also forgot that when my steering stabilizer went out, I got death wobble. Check for oil leaking out of it.

Re: New tires
Steering stabilizer was replaced about a year ago, and still looks good. No oil leaking.
I do have a lot of grease around my steering box, but I think that is because I over greased the fitting at the pitman arm and the excess grease went all over the place. Nothing is loose around there.

Re: New tires
So I did the old "business card" test - supposedly if tires are properly inflated for the load weight, a business card can be inserted between the ground and the outermost tread block about 1/4". Well at 20 PSI, I can't get any of it under the tread, which means I probably need to bump the pressure up to maybe 22-24 PSI. I also need to check the toe-in. I think my front end is knocked out of alignment a bit from the last offroading excursion.
Re: New tires
Thats way too much air! Try using a paint marker and draw a straight line across the tread. Then drive and see where the paint is wearing. I have the same tires, and I run 14psi on the street (highway included)

Re: New tires
Probably be Sunday before I get any pics. Too dark now, and I am headed to Bellingham first thing in the morning.
It really looks good though

Re: New tires
Well I got the tires balanced today after removing all of the airsoft BBs. Took a lot of weight, but it made a huge difference. No more wobble, all the way to 65 mph. I'm keeping the tires...

Re: New tires
Got the dynabeads installed last night in the front tires - man what a difference.
Ordering 4 more bags today, 2 for the back, and 2 to pay Jon back with.
Front tires ride as smooth as silk now...
