Is this a decent trailer?
Bulldog:

Seems pretty inexpensive, especially if I can sell my old trailer for about $1000...

It doesn't say whether it had brakes (electrical/mechanical)? You'd want all wheel brakes, preferrably electric. Structurally it's the same design as mine, and it's 20 years old

Yeah, I won't buy one that doesn't have brakes on all four wheels. I don't think it is legal to sell a trailer in WA that doesn't (if the GVWR of the trailer is over 3000 lbs).

Looks good. I'm sure it has brakes. Kinda weird they didn't list it though.

No spare? Well mine didn't come with one either. I bought one at the place just off of 167 right down by puyallup. I think it was like $70?

Same here, I was so excited to finally get one I didn't even think about it. Only one flat in 20 + years though (knocking on wood), got one now though

Re: Is this a decent trailer?
How about this trailer:
http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/rvs/624520200.html
Brand new, direct from the manufacturer in Lakewood for $1700.00. The main difference I see between it and others I've looked at is that it has 4" channel frame, and some of the more expensive ones have 5" channel frames. How much difference is that going to make for hauling a Jeep?
This is a little cheaper than the bulldog, and about $500 cheaper than the bigfoot trailer. Bigfoot is the closest to my house, but Titan Haul in Lakewood is way closer than going all the way to Chehalis...

Re: Is this a decent trailer?
Mine is made out of 4" C-channel, the only fault I ever experienced was with the bracket assembly that held the ball cup on the front end, it cracked and had to be replaced. I've replaced the wood on the deck once also, but again my trailer is over 20 years old

Thanks! Did you go with treated wood, or untreated?

You could always go with an aluminum bed in the future.

Pricey, but it would save weight

Re: Is this a decent trailer?
Well I'm buying the Titan Haul - http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/rvs/624520200.html
It is halfway built, being finished up tomorrow and Friday, and I pick it up on Saturday. Getting a black one, equipped just like the add above, except I added a spare tire with welded on mount on the tongue (tire lays flat), and added 2 additional D-rings, for a total of 6 rings (2 front, 2 halfway between front and fenders, and 2 rear).
Now I just need a WD hitch...

Looks nice, you'll enjoy being able to tow to the trail heads & camp, I know I have since I got mine. The only problem is now I've gone and made the jeep less street legal
