Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion

Our next club meeting date is next Tuesday, 9/7. Who all can make it? Just thought I would check since it follows the Holiday weekend.

I'll be there, unless there is a width restriction or a temporary trail closure that last until next year or a requirement for a map of the roads leading to the restaurant

Re: Club meeting next week 9/7
I'm not going to make it after all, but wanted to get this info out there. I have had several emails back and forth with Bob Pacific at the FS about the width restrictions at Evans Creek, and they are considering changing the restrictions. Here is my most recent email from him:
Hi Bill. The new width restriction on the map was a compromise considering the original width restriction was "60 inches". This is what the Evans Creek trail system was originally designed for and one of the issues which spurred the Evans Creek Environmental Assessment. The condition of Evans Creek was far outside the the US Forest Service standards and guidlines for resource protection which is law. We struggled through the process and tried to compromise many times in order to satisfy the US Fish and Wildlife consistency standards while accommodating the users. Unfortunatley the manufacture of 4x4's in the last couple of decades whether through the auto industry or user maufactured has not taken the resource issue on public lands into consideration. At this point the 72" restriction is not set in concrete. I have been measuring a bunch of 4x4 widths in the last couple of months and have measured quite a few at around 72" to outside of tires and some at around 76-77". I have measured a couple of vehicles at 80 and 81" (riding the Naches trail a few weeks ago and was too wide for the Naches). This is definetly too wide for Evans Creek I think the 72" seems to be a reasonable width but am open for increasing it to possibly 76" but definetly wont support 80". The next recreation meeting is scheduled for September 14th at the DNR conference room in Enumclaw. This issue will be topic of discussion but will will be limited to 15- 20 minutes.

Looks as though I'll have to start thinking about get some new wheels w/ a deeper offset to at least get down to their acceptable limits once they're enforced...these limitations will probably will be the same for trails I suppose
Thanks for the update Bill, keep them coming as you recieve them. Us 'drama queens' aren't getting the responses we want
