Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:14 pm by Zip
Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm, at Ricardos restaurant in Factoria, unless someone comes up with another suggestion
Dues are up for 2015
Take a look at your calendars for this summer to discuss an out of state run this summer. Also for when and where'd you like to go?

Spring Break Progress
While most college students spend their Spring Break down in Mexico or someplace tropical, I'd rather be cutting and grinding on the jeep getting it ready for the summer jeep season!!! So this past week on spring break I finally got some time to get some work done on the jeep! Plans for the break were to get my new cage finished up and start on bead locks.
For Christmas, my grandpa picked me up a cage that almost had everything I wanted. However, I was still wanting a dash bar, two center spreaders, and angle to tie the cage into the dash. I picked up a new welder a few months back and this was gonna be my first real project with the new machine.
Here's what I started with
Got ahold of some 2'' tube for the center spreaders and had a friend put a 15 degree bend in each. For the dash bar I ended up using a 1.5" pipe and some 2x2x1/4 angle iron that I cut down to tie the cage into the dash.
Very happy with the way it turned out

Re: Spring Break Progress
While waiting for material and bends to be made on the cage, I started working on my bead locks. I picked up a set of 15x8's cheap at the swap meet to use as my donor rims. I drew up some rings on Solidworks and sent them over to a buddy to have cut at his work. Once they were cut the welding began.
They are all welded up and just threw some paint on them yesterday before heading back to school. Looking forwards to running lower pressure on the trail
