Finally got a chance to test out the "low(er) COG" lift that I switched to after getting sick of my RE 4.5" setup. I'm now running Rokmen front lowers, JKS rear lowers, Currie rear uppers and the RE front uppers (I replaced them in phases). I switched to Nth 3" springs and all my jeepin buds said it wouldn't flex, wouldn't work well, etc.....but I wanted to give it a try, especially on wsm04rubi's recommendations.

I still have a few items to iron out, the front trackbar ...

What is the correct way to remove a bushing? I struggled for 2 hours last night to get the bushing pressed out of my JKS track bar. I finally got it, but it was a major pain. There has to be an easier way.

I did it with my harbor freight u-joint press. The problem was it just pressed the rubber and inner sleeve out, leaving the outer steel sleeve behind. Getting that out was the pain. I finally found a piece of steel pipe that was almost the right diameter, did a bit of grinding to ...

Well I got the driver side done this weekend. Wow what a huge pain-in-the-butt to get the old bushing out (the one that is in an ear on top of the diff housing). Beat on that thing for 4 hours before it finally popped out. Had to basically crush it in all the way around to get it to break loose. Replaced it with a currie johnny joint. The johnny joint went in very easily (it comes with a guide that you put over it and beat on it - took about 50 good solid whacks to drive it right into place). ...

Well they almost fit - gonna have to trim a little bit of metal and plastic inside the rear wheel wells. You can see the contact in the last picture, and at that point, I'm still about 1.5" off the bumpstops. The fronts are all the way to the bumpstop, and there is plenty of room everywhere up front, only the back had rubbing. The rubbing is on the front edge of the wheelwell - it's pretty dark in the picture, but if you look close you can see it.

I do get a bit of rubbing up front ...

This is with a 3" FT lift (plus all 8 JKS control arms and JKS disconnects), and a 1.25" BL. The flares have been trimmed a bit. The fronts are regular TJ flares trimmed 1.5", the rears are Rubicon flares trimmed 2".

With Jon's (white knuckler) help last night, I got my front trackbar replaced. Swapped out the really weak one that comes with the 3" FT kit for a JKS one. The JKS is about twice the diameter tubing, and much better mounting arrangement at the frame end.

After the swap, my Jeep handles like it did off the showroom floor. Gone is a dead spot in the steering that has been there ever since I installed the lift. Gone is the persistent wobble in the steering. And I haven't been able ...

Well I bought some new (to me) tires today - 36x12.5R15 IROKs. Bought them from Dale's friend Bob. They have at least 90% of the tread left, actually closer to 100% on 2 of them.

They came on 15x7 rims, so I think I'm going to need to find some different rims to run them on. I'm pretty sure that's too narrow for this size tire.

Also going to need to do a little flare trimming to make them work - these things are huge!!!

With the 36" Irok's:

No more spacer....just a big ass coil. Lifted the front about an inch or so.

I just added 1/4" spacers to the front of my Jeep (they just slide over the studs) and I now get 6 full turns out of the lug nuts before they are torqued. Does anyone know if this is unsafe, or do you think its ok?

13.5's on 8" rims anyone?

I traded rims and tires today with a friend of mine.

35x13.5x15 toyo's

on 10" streetlocks

I am going to ditch these wheels, and run 8" beadlocks. Does anyone know how the 13.5's will work on the 8" rims? I have extra wide flares, and the 10" rims are perfect. They stick out just a little. Unfortunately they are not real beadlocks. I'm hoping the extra tire on the 8" rims will stick out a little.

So I got a great deal on a complete set of 8 JKS adjustable control arms, from JayDub on ROF. He upgraded to the FT long arm kit. Saturday I bought a cheap angle finder at Lowes so I can dial these things in properly.

Hopefully this will fix the last little bit of Death Wobble I haven't been able to track down.

Can't wait to get these, and get them installed...
